Why we all need to tune our attitudes.

Elon Musk got ranked as the world's richest person surpassing Jeff Bezos, you would probably think, so what's in it for me?

I too had a similar note, when my brother shared this news to me and I replied in sarcasm, "So when are you giving me a party". We had invested in Tesla's shares but there's wasn't any upsurge in the numbers and I went back to my abnormal persuasion of life.

Later that night, I saw an Instagram post, that read ELON - ONE

That very post completely shattered my ego about my beliefs and logic. I had always been of the attitude of "To Hum Kya Kre", and it shifted to "Hum Kya Kr Skte Hain". Now that's where the creative energy shall start to flow.

The best you can do in life is to keep observant of yourself and learn from your own reflections.

Today, I had a similar experience, my dad asked me to design him a sticker for his businesses. Actually to design a single sticker of size 11" x 3", consisting of information for both his businesses.

My initial comments were, "This is not possible and it can never look good" and what I made, made me feel too low of my skills and knowledge in design. I felt incompetent for another two hours.

Here: this is the shit I made.

At 8, he called me to ask for the status. I recalled again, "Papa, it looks shit, this can never come along as you plan". At this point, I had already lost my energy and zeal.

He sent me a reference image and asked if I could write the store name in "Hindi" and instructed me to add an address to the design.

I was reminded of the lesson I had yesterday and decided to make a fresh attempt.

This time, I kept aside all my fixed beliefs and thought, "Hum kya kr skte hain ?", and the next result turned out pretty well.

The new design was more about what my dad needed than what were my beliefs. I always thought, too much information won't make a good design, but if you could make out, the new design had even more information than the previous one. All I did was apply the practical concepts of design to the new one.

Details:

Design: The one on the left is in the city, where the one on right is far into the village.

Language: One is completely in English, while the other in Hindi.

Logo's: The brand logos are in their respective brand colours, which associates with the mental models of the dwellers of my village.

CTA: Instead of " Sampark are", I made it to "Abhi Sampark are". This sounds a little more compelling to perform the action.

Overview: I redefined the visual hierarchy that guides your eyes from left to the right, still having enough breathing room to hold you into the message.

Now all I had to do it wait for the print:

Thus on a concluding note, I would suggest, let your energy flow and never be restricted by your own knowledge be it on any subject matter.
